Salouk National Park, with an area of 8231 hectares, consists of fabulous nature, various fauna and plant species, and specific geomorphology. The mountainous topography has made Salouk National Park one of the most varied wildlife habitats.
A large number of Urial, gazelle, Wild goat, leopard, wildcat, and marten are the rare animal species of this area. This area is the main habitat of gazelle in the North Khorasan Province. Wild boars in the northern mountains use roots and shrubs of the area. These boars do not have a fixed location and sometimes change their habitat to long distances. Wolves, jackals, and foxes can be found throughout Salouk, while hyenas are found only in the southern hills of this area. Brandt's hedgehog, Desert hedgehog, squirrel, Grey dwarf hamster, Northern three-toed jerboa, porcupine, rabbit, and weasels are the other mammals of Salouk National Park.
