Grand Bazaar of Isfahan is placed on the Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Isfahan province. Grand Bazaar is also known as Qeysarriyeh Bazaar and Soltani bazaar which mainly dedicated to the sale of carpet.

Grand Bazaar of Isfahan is located on the historical part of Isfahan which was one of the largest trading centers in the Safavid era. This Bazaar has connected the Naqsh-e Jahan Square to the Kohneh Square. Qeysarriyeh Portal is the entrance gate of Grand Bazaar. You can buy Khatam in different shapes, various textiles, and other souvenirs of Isfahan at Grand Bazaar of Isfahan.

The Grand Bazaar of Isfahan mainly divided into different parts that called Rasteh (a straight and long path that is on both sides of the shop). Grand Bazaar contain some Rasteh as follows: Orian bazaar, Harounie, Nimavard-e Golshan, Makhlas, Samavarsazha (Samovarmakers), and Maqsudbeyk.

This roofed Bazaar which some foreigners called it roofed-gallery, contains some religious places with spectacular Islamic architectural style. These religious places are as follows: Nimavar school, Sadr Madrasa, Kassegaran Madrasa, Harounie school, Nimavar school, Molla Abdollah school, Kayyatha Mosque, Now Mosque, and Jarchi Mosque.

Grand Bazaar of Isfahan contains some Timchehs (a place where several shops traded.) which are the main economic part of Bazaar. These Timchehs Some of them are as follows: Ardestaniha Serai, Khani Serai, Aqa Serai, Pa-Derakht-Soukhteh Serai, Mir-Esmaiel Serai, Talar Serai, Khansariha Serai, Golshan Serai, Jarchi Serai, and Fakhr Serai.

• Architecture
   

The structure of the Grand Bazaar has built on two stories. The upstairs dedicated to the commercial activities and the other Corporations settled side by side on the downstairs. There is a circular area in the middle part of this Bazaar with a marvelous dome above it. Also, you can see a Caravanserai with 150 shops in two stories on the western side of the Bazaar. You will see Muqarnas on the ceiling of Qeysarriyeh Portal which made of colorful tiles.

Late March till late May is the best time to visit the Grand Bazaar of Isfahan.

• Getting there?
   

Grand Bazaar of Isfahan located on the Northern side of the Naqsh-e Jahan Square. It is possible, to reach Grand Bazaar of Isfahan via public transportation as following paths:

Bus: To reach Naqsh-e Jahan Square, you should use the buses on the square of Imam Hussain - the Ghadir Gardens of the East Terminal, or Imam Hussain Square - use the Hast Behesht of the Khorasgan Terminal and get off at the Imam Square Station.

Metro: The nearest station is Imam Hossein Square. Then you can reach Naqsh-e Jahan Square by taxi.
