Baba Taher Hamedani, known as Baba Taher Oryan, is a poet of the fourth century and the fifth century AH. He lived in the Seljuq period. His tomb located on a hill in the northwest of Hamedan.

Baba Taher was a famous poet during the prosperity of knowledge and cognition of Iran. He was born in Hamedan province. Baba Taher was his eldest dervishes in his time. He lived under the rule of the Seljuq, but the exact date of the birth of Baba Taher is unknown. During his lifetime, he wrote a lot of Do-bayti (kind of poem) Poetry that was Larry's accent.

The tomb of Baba Tahir is on top of a hill in the northwest of Hamedan. The tomb is in a beautiful rectangular field with a dome of turquoise paint in the form of a charter and octagonal rule. The ceiling of the tomb has also beautifully tiled.

The octagonal pillars of the tower, gravestone, the floor of the tomb and its steps are made of granite. The construction of the tomb of Baba Taher has been destroyed and rebuilt many times in the past years. In the 6th century AH, an octagonal brick tower was built on this building, which destroyed over time. During this reconstruction, a tile plate belonging to the seventh century AH was found on which the Quranic verses written with the Kofic. In 1329, this semi-work structure restored, and in 1345 a new pattern of the building was proposed by Engineer Hooshang Seyhoun and engineer Foroughi. The construction of this tomb began in 1346 and ended three years later.

 

  • What is the best time to go?

The weather is temperate and mountainous in Hamedan. The best months of travel to Hamedan are May, June, and early July. You can go to this tomb from 9 am to 6 pm.

 

  • Getting there?

This tomb is located in one of the main squares in Hamadan. If you go to Hamedan with a private car, you should know that you can reach this square through Philistine Boulevard, Niru Entezami Boulevard, and Sattar Ebrahimi Boulevard.

To use the bus, take the buses on the complex Alvand line, and get off at the Baba Taher Square. Bus station right on the box office for the Baba Taher Tomb.
