Sarigol Protected Area

Sarigol Protected Area is the biome of numerous plant, animal, and bird species, considered as one of the most prominent habitats of Iran.

Sarigol Protected Area has an eye-catching nature, which is known as one of the most prominent habitats of Iran, divided into a protected area and a national park. Low altitude hillsides of Sarigol are the largest area of pastures, considered the best home of urial and leopard. The plain of the Sarigol Protected Area is the habitat of 25 gazelle. Since this area includes valleys with the flow of water with different discharges, various plant and animal species are identified that created astonishing landscapes.

• Geographical location:

  Sarigol Protected Area is located in the southwest of Esfarayen, North Khorasan Province. The height difference between the highest and lowest point of this area is about 1800 meters, which created a varied ecosystem. So many plant species of hot and cold climate can grow in the Sarigol Protected Area.
