Khoshaku Ski Resort

The Urmia is located in the northwest of Iran in the West Azarbaijan Province. The city is located at the elevation of 1332 meters, in the west of Lake Urmia. The Khoshaku Ski Resort is one of the winter attractions of this area.

The Khoshaku Ski Resort is located 30 kilometers in the west of Urmia and is the only ski resort in the West Azarbaijan Province. It is located in the Razhan area in a good climate situation, due to the presence of suitable slopes, beautiful landscape and winter sport equipment, it is a special place to do winter sports such as ski. This enchanting ski resort is welcome to the loads of foreign skiers when the ski season starts in winter. This slope starts at the elevation of 2800 m and ends at the elevation of 2065 m from the sea level. The Khoshaku Ski Resort is one of the winter sport hubs in the north west of Iran because of its potential features. However, due to lack of infrastructure, these facilities have not been implemented. The Khoshaku Ski Resort with 50 thousand cubic meters and due to the availability of suitable vegetation, it is also possible to have a grass skiing (grasski) on the grassy slope in the summertime. The other similar ski resorts to the Khoshaku Ski Resort, are the Sahand Ski Resort in East Azarbaijan province and the Alvares Ski Resort in Ardabil province.

•  Entrance Fee:

The entrance fee of the Khoshaku Ski Resort is 350,000 IRR and this complex is ready to give services on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The duration of using the ski resort for one day is from morning to afternoon or 8AM to 5PM. A parking lot is available to use at this complex with the entrance fee of 40,000 IRR.

•  Is there any rental shop to rent the ski gear?

There is a rental shop for renting skis and ski boats at the complex that you can rent them between the rate of 300,000 IRR to 350,000 IRR.

•  Ski instructor:

The ski instructors are available at the ski school to teach you how to ski. The rate of the ski instructor is variable and it costs you about 300,000 IRR per hour.

•  What is the best time to go?

The ski season at the Khoshaku Ski Resort runs from October to December. The ski resort opens to the public three days of the week in the ski season.

•  Getting there?

The Khoshaku Ski Resort is located 30 kilometers in the west of Urmia, in West Azarbaijan Province. The distance between the Khoshaku Ski Resort and Urmia is about 45 kilometers and it takes about one hour by car.
