Hasht Behesht palace

Hasht Behesht is one of the famous palaces in Isfahan which was built under the rule of Shah Abbas for his eight mistresses. It has several rooms and ponds and benefits from the marvelous architecture of the Safavid era.

The Hasht Behesht Palace, once the most beautiful palace in Isfahan, was built in 1080 SH and during Safavid Shah Suleiman near the Bagh Bolbol garden. According to some historians, this garden was home to eight mistresses of the Shah Abbas's shrine, in which four of them live in the first floor and four others live in the second floor.

• Architecture:

The vast garden in which the mansion located in a part of the great garden Naghsh -e- Jahan that built at the time of Shah Isma'il I. The central part of the palace is constructed in the form of four rows and the porch in the north. The ceiling is full of glamorous gypsum (Gypsum Mogharnas).

The palace is built on two floors and is built on an octagonal base with a height of 130 centimeters. The palace is also close to 14 meters. The first-floor rooms are plastered and painted in four corners of the building. On the second floor, the mansion also adds a set of rooms, vaults and windows to its beauty. There are ponds and some wall heaters in some. The walls are covered with many mirrors.

In this mansion, something important is the connection between different spaces and parts of it. The north porch of the palace has a pond of a marble with a shallow depth called Morvarid pond (pearl pond).

The Ivan Nemrozai palace is also a waterfall process, designed on the wall of the porch as a hollow channel that flows from the upper floors of the pool and flows like a cascade into a small bottom pond.

The Hasht Behesht Palace, is ready to welcome all day, even the closing days from 9Am-18:30PM. The entrance fee to the palace is 200000 IRR for foreign visitors.

• Getting there:

The Hasht Behesht palace is located in Isfahan Province, Isfahan, Chahar Bagh e Abbasi St,central of  the Hasht Behesht Garden. You can get there by taxi or by foot from Naghshe Jahan. If you choose to get by foot, you can visit Chehel Sotoon palace, then visit Hasht Behesht that distant from Naghshe Jahan until Hasht Behesht is 1.5Km (17min). The taxi fee is 55000 IRR from Naghshe Jahan until Hasht Behesht.
